Classes will run on Mondays for 6 weeks on the following dates: January 12th, 19th, 26th February 9th,16th and 23rd.* *No classes on February 2nd due to Bank Holiday
If you have a hunch about acting, this is the class for you. Discover the joy of playing with voice, gesture and emotion to create character pictures. Discover the power of performance and learn to allow yourself to “be” fully in a public setting. Learn to engage with dramatic text and discover ways of bringing it to life on stage. Learn to have fun and experience excitement by exploring what is possible within the experience of yourself. The class is suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
Bio
Jack Healy has worked in theatre for over 30 years, mainly as an actor and playwright. He has contributed to more than 50 new plays and written scripts for the Everyman Palace, RTÉ Radio and Cork County Council.
With his company, Theatre Makers, Jack has collaborated with Ger Fitzgibbon to produce four of his plays: The Bed, Tenebrae, The Hairdresser’s Calendar, and Ghostlight.
As an actor, Jack’s work includes playing Michael in the highly acclaimed Dancing at Lughnasa at the Everyman Palace and performing his one-man show Shostakovich at the Cork Midsummer Festival and at the South Bank Centre as part of the “Rest is Noise” festival in London. He performed in The Robinson Experiment by John Sheehy, which premiered at The School Yard Theatre in Charleville in September 2025.
Jack has been active in creative education, teaching extra-mural acting classes at UCC since 2017.

PLEASE NOTE: Withdrawal from the programme will be refunded at the following rates:
30 days + prior to the start of the class: 75% Refund
14 to 29 days prior to the start of the class: 50% Refund
7 to 13 days prior to the start of the class: 25% Refund
Less than 7 days prior to the start of the class: No Refund, participants will be offered the option to join a class taking place at a later date.
