DHSI Atlantic is a summer school designed to introduce and demystify key concepts from the digital humanities for students and scholars at any stage of their careers. In-keeping with the Digital Humanities Summer Institute at the University of Victoria, courses are taught by internationally-recognised scholars with extensive experience in the application and instruction of DH tools and methods.
Workshop Description
Introduction to Digital Humanities is suited to complete novices interested in being introduced to key concepts from Digital Humanities. Some of the topics included in this workshop are:
- Research Data Management and Optimisation
- Data Visualisation
- Natural Language Processing
- Geographical Information Systems
- Digital publishing (CMS)
This workshop will give participants an overview of the field of Digital Humanities, what tools and resources are available, and how to use them to further their research.
Classes will consist of theoretical introductions as well as practical applications of key tools and methods.
