Payment & Delivery
What payment options do you accept?
Credit/Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), and PayPal.
All credit and debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. Orders cannot be processed without full payment, and no goods will be dispatched until a credit/debit card payment has been authorised. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.
Payments made by PayPal will appear as StudentFaci on your bank Statement.
Is my payment secure?
Yes, all payments are processed securely through encrypted channels. We use trusted payment gateways, Elavon and Paypal, to safeguard your personal and payment information.
Delivery information
Most of our delivery options require a signature on receipt, so please ensure the address you provide is one where someone can be present to sign for the parcel. UCCShop.ie cannot take responsibility for parcels that go missing due to an incorrect delivery address
Who ships my order?
All deliveries within the Republic of Ireland are shipped via An Post Registered Parcel Post. Packages sent overseas are first processed in Ireland before being transferred to the destination country’s postal service for final delivery. Delivery typically takes place between 9am and 5pm on weekdays. Requests for delivery notes such as “leave beside shed” cannot be added to parcel labels.
Delivery rates
Postage rates are based on your order value and destination. While we make every effort to ship items to you in the below time frames, there are certain times of the year such as Christmas, where we can understandably experience some delays. Below are the current rates:

- Express delivery is available for items under 2 kgs in weight and does not require a signature on delivery, this method will take slightly longer and provides tracking information. If your Express order weighs more than 2kg we will contact you to arrange payment for Priority delivery instead
- Courier delivery is available to most other countries
Customs & import charges (USA):
Following a directive from the US government, from 29 August 2025, all goods entering the USA now have taxes applied, the previous de minimis of below $800 no longer applies. Taxes of minimum 15% to the value of the item will now be applied & will have to be paid by the receiving customer before it can be delivered.
What is the new process?
- The recipient customer in the USA must pay the taxes before the item can be delivered.
- An Post now asks that for these items, the recipient email is provided as a mandatory field.
- An Post International Logistics Partner will contact the USA recipient and request payment of taxes, along with an administration fee.
- A time frame of 5 calendar days applies for the customer to pay.
- Once paid, the eCommerce parcel will be delivered to the USA.
- If not paid, the item will be returned to the sending customer.
- No postage credit will be due to the customer in this instance.
Suspension of service to selected Middle East destinations
An Post have announced that due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, all mail services to the following countries have been suspended with immediate effect:
Iran, Iraq, Israel, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.
Click and collect
You can collect your order free of charge from the UCC Student Centre (Áras na Mac Léinn). After placing an order, please allow at least 24 hours for it to be prepared (excluding weekends, bank holidays etc.).
Once ready, you’ll receive an email advising that your order is ready to be collected – this is different to your order confirmation email. Orders should be collected within 7 working days.
Dispatched orders & tracking
Once your order is dispatched, you’ll receive an automated email with your tracking number. If you do not receive your order within the above timeframe, please contact us.
What happens if I am not there to sign for my order?
A delivery attempt will be made. If no one is available to sign, an attempted delivery notice will be left and the parcel taken to your local sorting office.
If collections are not made within the allotted time, parcels may be returned to us. If this happens, and we need to resend your order, you will be responsible for additional postage costs.
